I partner with a retiring owner to buy one business, then run it and grow it for the long term.
Swansea Succession is my search for one established business in the US or Canada.
About me
I am Hashmat Habibzadah. Today I lead the post-acquisition integration of a multi-site transportation group in Ontario. The work covers governance, capital projects, and IT and facilities consolidation.
I grew up around my family's custom cabinetry business in Toronto. In 2025 I stepped in to help run it. I standardised quoting, put supplier agreements in place and set up a CRM.
Before that, I spent seven years in consulting, at Accenture in Toronto and Strategy& in Dubai, mostly on post-acquisition integration, shared services and growth strategy for large companies.
I hold an HBA from Ivey Business School and an MBA from INSEAD.
Why I am doing this
I grew up around a small family business and saw what it takes to build one. Consulting taught me how larger organisations run. The integration work taught me what happens to a business and its people after it is sold. I want to bring those together in one business I run myself, where the results show up directly for the customers and the employees.
What I am looking for
One established business in the US or Canada, with:
- $1M to $5M in EBITDA (roughly $5M to $40M in revenue)
- Stable, recurring revenue
- A defensible position in its market
- Long-standing customer relationships
I know how multi-site, people-heavy service businesses run, often in regulated or compliance-driven fields, where customers come back year after year.
What owners can expect
- I will run the business myself, full time.
- I will move to where the business is.
- Your team stays, and so does the name.
- A handover of 6 to 12 months, longer if you want. I want to learn the business from you, not replace what works.
- You deal with one buyer, not a fund adding to a portfolio.
What happens if you get in touch
- A confidential conversation. No broker needed, and no fee to you.
- If it fits, a look at the numbers under a non-disclosure agreement.
- A straight answer within a few weeks, either way.
